New Year's Eve is a great time to be in the southernmost city. There are several different ways to ring in the new year "Key West Style." Here are a few of our favorites and some information on how to catch these great happenings on the last night of 2013.
- Watch The Conch Drop- The show takes place on top of Sloppy Joe's Bar. It has been a Key West tradition for over 20 years. Find a spot on the street at the intersection of Duval & Greene Street, and watch the show. The crowds are quit large for this event, so get there early. More Info Here.
- See Sushi At The Bourbon Street Pub- For 16 years, Gary "Sushi" Marion has taken center stage on New Year's Eve in Key West, Florida, as the star of the annual "shoe drop." This event takes place on Duval Street at the end of the 700 block. More Info Here.
- Lowering of The Pirate Wench- Schooner Wharf Bar has been called the last piece of "Old Key West." This one of a kind bar has its own way to ring in the new year. The Lowering of the Pirate Wench from the 75-foot high mast of Schooner Adirondack III takes place on New Year's Eve. This is a great alternative to being amidst the chaos that is Duval Street on the night of New Year's Eve. More Info Here.
